Superstition is a leash for the feeble who bow down to their lesser gods. I have seen a sailor twist themselves in a knot with claims that they have sighted strange beasts or the visages of lost friends. Often, a slap on the head and swig of grog were cure enough. But the weakest of minds were beyond help. See, those raving idiots were so duped by their sight, that it ruled all other sense.

This is why I know that the devils in the jungle are real. I can see them, I can hear them and I can smell them. If not for their cruel whims, I would almost call them my friends. But I have reached the end of their vile games and now, the truth is revealed. There is treasure! Great heaps of treasure hidden beneath the grotesque slimy rock. All that is left to do is to dive deep into its black depths.
