My forebearers have lived in Jiwe since the beginning of time. During all my years of rule, I have never seen such a curious sight.

A ship of unknown origin had landed off the coast. The crew had pale complexions and a funny language not understood. These strange traders, called French, differed from the Sohari and Rempah in many ways.

Most odd was their hunting tool. Not a spear, but a lightening stick that made such thunderous noise as to terrify all living creatures. Not very practical when trying to hunt under the cover of silence.

Besides these silly contraptions, they bring all manner of goods to trade. I shall learn more from these strangers but for now I am way of their intentions.

Asafa Okar, High King of Jiwe
