Rituals of the Fara

By: Naturalist, Jon De Bruin

The most fascinating and revered of all Clan of Fara rites and rituals is the Fitampoha. It takes place only once every five years for it requires much preparation. The Dady, relics of ancient Fara Kings are brought to the sacred waters north of the Royal Burial.

There, the Dady priests of noble lineage bathe the ancient relics. The warriors, barred from even touching the relics, offer only the greatest spoils of war as offering.

The most recent Fitampoha caused quite a stir. Fara High King Asandara instead held a festival where the Dady priests sacrificed a dozen zebus in his name. It remains to be seen if this practice shall continue. As zebu are the primary source of sustenance for the Fara, starvation has become a predator that stalks these people.
