Dark navy and gleaming silver, the burnished steel repels the fiercest of fires.
The weaker Abyssal I can be purchased from Ruins of Luk Khun outpost. Abyssal II is a random world drop.

Dampened – Reduces the duration of the Ablaze status effect by 33%. (From 15 seconds to 10 seconds)
Abyssal is to Ablaze as what Gambe Kobe is to Flooding. If you’re going up against PvE enemies who use predominantly fire weapons, the fire damage mitigation is second to none. Unfortunately, there are no predominantly fire using enemies that necessitate this armour (as of writing for Season 2).
Promises etched into the hull prove sturdier than any piercing shot.
Buccaneer’s Oath can be purchased from the Black Market for 450 Sovereigns.
Damage Type | Mitigation |
Physical Damage (Armor Rating) | 54.7% (1200) |
Explosive | 20% |
Flooding | 15% |
Fire | 20% |

Piercing | 20% |
Blood And Gold – Destroying a target confers the “Blood and Gold” status on your ship, which increases Weapon Damage and Armor by 25% for 30 seconds.
The Buccaneer’s Oath is the best in slot offensive option in the game. Whilst it doesn’t have the defensive fallback strength of Black Prince, the 25% damage increase and an additional 10% Damage Reduction is not to be sniffed at. Paired with a Sambuk in Takeovers or Defense, cackle whilst the world burns.
A tough yet sleek armor crafted from the mighty Lestari. Improves sailing speed.
Leviathan is a craftable item made from a blueprint sold by the Sea People Huntsmaster
Damage Type | Mitigation |
Physical Damage (Armor Rating) | 53.5% (1150) |
Explosive | – |
Flooding | 23% |
Fire | 18% |
Tearing | – |
Piercing | 35% |
Hydrodynamic – Every know of Sailing speed increases Armor by 1%. Note: At 20 knots, this puts Leviathan at 1380 armor or around 60% physical damage mitigation or around 6-7% more than base.
Impenetrable – Reduces Weakpoint Damage by 20%.
The first thing to note about Leviathan is that contrary to its tooltip, it does not improve sailing speed. There is a world where Leviathan could shine specifically as a counter to a Scurlock build, but Mastbreaker’s 7000 damage is unmitigated by armour. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either.
None may harm a captain of such extravagant tastes.
Rhapsody of the Deep is available on the Season 2 Smuggler’s Pass
Damage Type | Mitigation |
Physical Damage (Armor Rating) | 52.4% (1100) |
Explosive | 20% |
Flooding | 35% |
Fire | 20% |

Unsinkable – Whilst bracing, you are immune to the buildup of the Flooded status effect.
Iron Plastron – Reduce damage from Torpedoes by 25%, and by 50% whilst bracing.
Rhapsody of the Deep is a niche armour set designed to combat the main damage output of the Hubac Twins, who primarily rely on Torpedoes. Outside of those specific events, it may fall into niche use but will struggle to compete with the ubiquity of the Buccaneer’s Oath, Black Prince or Royal Custodian
A full orchestra upon the waves. May their voices be your shield.
Stormwoven Symphony is available from the Black Market for 450 Sovereigns
Damage Type | Mitigation |
Physical Damage (Armor Rating) | ~53% (1100) |
Explosive | 25% |
Flooding | 25% |
Fire | – |
Tearing | – |
Piercing | 25% |
Crescendo – Holding brace charges up a sonic attack, dealing up to 6000 damage to surrounding hostiles, up to 125m when fully charge.
Note: there are two charge stages, at 2 seconds the armour does 3000 damage, at 4 seconds the armoud does the full 6000.
Stormwoven Symphony’s Crescendo perk falls into the same trap of the Wrathful Ward. The conditions for use are too situational for this to offer any significant challenge to better armor like Black Prince, Royal Custodian and the new Buccaneer’s Oath.
