Quick Review
We currently have 12 major furnitures, 10 offensive minor furniture type and 18 utility minor furniture.
You can check the effects on the page below.
https://thehelm.gg/quartermaster/furniture/

So, after choosing a suitable ship and the weapons you like and master, you know have to work with the furnitures, those will be the cherry on top of your build, details to increase the dps, survivability or functionnality.
I won’t through with all of them, they are available on the link above, I’ll just talk about the most important ones.

Dps
Regarding the major furniture:
Megaphone, consecutive hits decrease reload time, it is the best choice for the majority of dps build.
Signal Gong, increases damage after a crew attack, it is helpful choice for crew attack type builds.
Scrapper station, restore health after a crew attack, it is the best choice for crew attack type builds.
Scoping Station, marks enemies hit at 320m for more damage to weakpoint, it is the best choice for precision long range builds.
Munitions Mixer, increase duration of flooded and ablaze, but lower damages, it is the best choice for status effect builds.
Regarding the minor furniture:
Weapon Works, each weapon got his own furniture, increases Elemental damage, it’s a way to boost damages easily, even though most of the time the elemental damages are too low, is useful when running one weapon on all slots.
Powder Kegs, increases a slot weapon damage, the best choice for damage improvement.
Furnaces, available for multiple weapons, increases the range of specific weapons, useful for more versatility on short range builds.
Grinders, available for almost every weapon, increase the projectile speed, which in fact increase the optimal range, meaning you will have a damage reduction based on range further than the normal 55% max range.
Boatswain’s Call, increases crew cttack damage, vital for a crew attack build.
Spiked War Horn, increases charge rate of crew attack, important in a crew attack build.
Gunpowder Bench, increases damage to an ablazed ship.
Volatile and/or Sticky fuel station, increase charge and/or duration of ablaze, important for status effect build.

Tank
Regarding the major furniture:
Scrapper Station, restore health after a crew attack, it can be useful on a solo tank build, giving more survivability.
Rigging Station, restore halth passively when under 20%, good choice for a self sufficient build.
Water Tank, reduce stamina depletion while bracing and increases stamina recovery, good choice for a full bracing build.
Iron Capstan, reduces damage and increase threat generation whilst anchored, do not advice since you will be immobilized.
Regarding the minor furniture:
Maintenance forge, Restore severe damage while out of combat.
Double planked hull, increases max hull health, highly recommended.
Sterile Galley, increases maximum stamina, highly recommended.
Rum Pantry, increase stamina recovery.
Flag Painting station, increases threat generation, useful.

Support
Regarding the major furniture:
First Aid Station, increases the healing for ships with less health, highly recommended.
Iron Capstan, reduce damage taken and increases threat generation when anchored, recommended but never anchor in a fight.
Regarding the minor furniture:
Powderhouses, increases the area of effect for mortar and bombard, for a bigger healing zone.
Furnaces, increases the range of the weapon.
Grindstones, increases the projectile speed of the weapon.
Joinery Workshop, increases the healing amount, highly recommended.

Speed
For a speed type build
Major furniture, either the rope locker if you tend to stop a lot, for coins run for exemple, or the water tank, which can allow you to have a good synergy and food free runs
If you are looking at speed and efficiency, I recommend the balanced mast and lightened mast, for a huge acceleration and deceleration boost, allowing you to gain time and have better maneuvrability in tight turns. Leather rope grips is also an amazing choice, allowing you to consume less stamina when trimming.
The rum pantry can be used with the water tank allowing you to get better recovery.

Advices
Really think those through, since we only have really limited slots, and focus your furniture for the purpose of your build.
It is important to know that a major furniture is practical, but not obligatory, sometimes it’s better to not use one.
