Long Guns reward calculated precision shots at medium to long range as a result of its high base damage and 225% weakspot multiplier. The Long Gun’s shot interval, reload time and being Top Deck make it inefficient for Broadside mounts; or in short to medium range encounters.

The Fire Long Gun takes everything that the base Long Gun does, and adds fire. And fire makes everything better. For the Long Gun afficionado, it is a good pick until you get Scurlock’s.

Scurlock’s Long Guns are the answer to the question – how do I stop a Brigantine? The Tearing perk ensures that you can apply Mast Breaker every 2-3 shots, and thus trigger the Mast Breaker perk’s 7000 damage consistently. Scurlock’s are easily top tier for the Bow Chasers or Stern Chasers mount.

Piercing Damage | 408 | 670 |
Weak Point Damage | 4425 | 7260 |
Perks
The Repair Long Guns are somewhat underpowered for the role they are intended. Even when combined with the Cutter’s 60% increase to repairs, these weapons are simply outpaced by a player using Repair Kits.

Perks
The base Bombard has good single shot damage, good sustained DPS and also does Explosive splash damage in a small area. Want to make the boom bigger? Put them on a Sloop or a Padewakang.

Total Damage | 3712 |
Explosive Damage | 337.5 |
Weak Point Damage | 5568 |
Perks
What happens when you add fire to an already strong weapon? The Fire Bombard is a top tier weapon, great for stern mounts and obviously pairs well with Fire and Explosive builds. Pairs well with a Barge / Sambuk duo.

Modelled on a Scottish mortar of the same name, the Mons Meg is the best non-Mortar siege weapon in the game by a significant margin. On a Padewakang or Sloop, watch walls crumble.

Explosive Damage | 307.5 |
Piercing Damage | 307.5 |
Weak Point Damage | 7380 |
Perks
Like the Mons Meg, the Dardanelles is based on a historical weapon. The Dardanelles is what happens when you cross a Bombard with a Demicannon. Whilst not the best at siege warfare, the Unison perk excels in the Stern mount as a quick 8000 damage tap following a broadside.

In contrast to the underwhelming Repair Long Guns, the Repair Bombards offer AoE healing and a good heal per second rate at a slight cost of accuracy.

Torpedos are a high skill weapon which are reliant on keeping your opponents at medium range (between 100m and 450m) whilst predicting their movements. Unfortunately, the damage payoff for this level of play is terrible in comparison to other more accessible weapons.

Weak Point Damage (Armed Damage) | 2158 (3231) |
Perks
Whilst the base Torpedo is a poor choice, the Shalei does offer synergy with ships like the Sloop and Padewakang and their Explosive based perks. Whether or not that’s enough to account for the low damage payoff remains to be seen.

The perk on Rahma’s Ambition and Rahma’s Legacy looks good on paper, until you realise that you need to land successive shots in a salvo for a measly damage gain. Contrast this to 2 shots from Scurlocks for a 7000 damage bump.
