The Dhow is the first ship a player gets and is unique in that it cannot be crafted or deleted. The player’s Dhow is called the Exeter’s Jolly by default, indicating its origin at the start of the story. The boat is not capable of ocean travel, and is armed only with a set of hunting spears.

The Hulk is the Tank in the Small ship class. It excels at Bracing and reducing incoming damage to great effect. As such, the Hulk can sustain a respectable amount of punishment and outlast even Mediums. A skilled captain can endure in the middle of the Action for long periods of time. and which is beneficial given the lack of speed.

The Cutter is one of two support ships in the game. It excels at low-profile healing, and has excellent manoeuvrability to keep it out of harms way. A well-captained Cutter can easily provide healing for multiple groups during encounters.

Thanks to an increase in Explosive damage, and damage to structures; the Sloop excels at Siege warfare, and can hold its own with the Medium ship class due to its 3 Top Deck broadside gunports. Alternatively, explosive weapons like the Shalei torpedo could offer an interesting stand-off capability when dealing with clusters of enemies.
